Phobias are more than simple fears, they are anxiety disorders.
Phobias develop when a person starts to organise their life around avoiding whatever it is they are afraid of.
A phobia can be defined as an excessive and irrational fear of a place, object or situation that poses little or no actual danger in reality.
Specific or simple phobias
Social Phobias
Social phobia is an intense, persistent, chronic fear of being watched and judged by others and of doing things which may cause embarrassment. There might be worry and concern for days or weeks leading up to a situation or event. Sometimes, this fear can become so severe that it interferes with everyday activities and in some cases it can impact the ability to make a keep friends.
If you are experiencing a phobia, the chances are you have built your life around avoiding the object or situation. The knock-on effect of this is that your mental health could be impacted in other unhelpful ways.
